Security

Private by default, and honest about the limits

Messages are end-to-end encrypted

Messages and attachments are encrypted on your device with the Signal Protocol and decrypted on the recipients’ devices. Your keys never leave your devices, and our servers store and relay only encrypted content, so they can’t read your messages. Notification previews are decrypted on your device.

Calls are end-to-end encrypted

On current QuiC apps, voice and video calls are encrypted on your device, so our servers pass them on without being able to see or hear them. Each meeting is either end-to-end encrypted, or set up for recording and AI notes; those meetings are encrypted in transit and at rest, but not end-to-end. We keep call details such as who took part and for how long, so your call history works.

What encryption doesn’t cover

Metadata (who talked to whom, and when) is needed to deliver messages. Text you send to an AI feature goes to our AI provider to be processed. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is and isn’t covered.

Controls for the people who run it

Your administrators manage who gets in and what devices can do, from one console.

  • Roles and permissions, and approval of access requests
  • Device management and an organisation-wide session kill switch
  • Screenshot policy for the mobile app
  • Audit log, call logs and usage analytics

Read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How do I get access to QuiC?
Most people are invited by their organisation’s administrator and simply sign in with their work email. If you haven’t been invited, request access with your work email. Depending on your organisation’s settings, the request is approved automatically or goes to an admin.
Is QuiC end-to-end encrypted?
Messages and attachments are, using the Signal Protocol: our servers store and relay only encrypted content. So are voice and video calls on current apps. Chats with a business or bot aren’t. Each meeting is either end-to-end encrypted or set up for recording and AI notes; a meeting with recording or AI notes is encrypted in transit and at rest, but not end-to-end. Metadata, and text you send to AI features, aren’t end-to-end encrypted either. See what encryption covers.
Can I use QuiC on my computer?
Yes. Download QuiC for Mac (Apple silicon and Intel), or open QuiC in your browser — there’s nothing to install. A Windows app is coming soon.
What does the AI assistant see?
Only what you choose to send it, and only when you use it. That text is processed by Anthropic’s Claude models on our behalf. Your administrator can turn AI features off for the whole organisation. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account?
Follow the steps on Delete your account, which also explains what is deleted and what is kept.
